Compressor Package:

Art has a broad knowledge of Reciprocating and Rotary Screw & Vane Compressors and Accessories Package design and manufacturing combined with supervisory and hands-on technical development of such Products.  He has been responsible for both Portable and Stationary Compressors and has actively supported overseas Joint Ventures in both Design and Manufacturing.  He is also familiar with Planning and Scheduling of Compressor Products from Marketing specifications to finished Product release to marketplace.  Additionally he has knowledge in lubricated and non-lubricated Compressors.
He is also totally familiar with Reciprocating Pumps and Rotary Valve Compressors and is capable of analyzing and trouble shooting designs.
 

Airend and Control System Design:

Art has the analytical skills to develop the theory and design tools necessary for new Screw Rotor Profiles and has access to Model shops capable of producing prototype designs.  He is familiar with the Industry’s current state-of-the-art on a worldwide basis and is capable of analyzing the pros and cons of Screw Profiles and Airends from efficiency and Manufacturing aspects.  He is knowledgeable in the sourcing of Rotors and Airends for OEM Applications on an International basis.

Compressor Control System Design:

Art has developed Control  Systems using pneumatics, hydraulics, electro-mechanical and solid state micro-processor controls.  His knowledge of Compressors provides a sound basis for analyzing and trouble-shooting systems.  He is capable of reviewing and analyzing Compressed Air Applications and Compressor selections for low energy consumption.

Compressor Design Reviews:

Art’s industrial experience in both Engineering and Manufacturing provides the knowledge and skills to effectively analyze the strengths and weaknesses of Compressor Designs.   He has supported and participated in many Product design reviews at both Corporate and local division level and has good commercialization and vision skills.  He has screened, analyzed and tested new technologies, patents and concepts for Market applications.
 

Strategic Planning, Product Conceptualizing:

Art has participated in many Think Tank and innovative Thinking Sessions and has successfully applied innovative thinking techniques to gather large numbers of Compressor ideas.  He has provided both practical and technical Product input to One, Two, Five and Ten Year Strategic Planning, both Domestic and Worldwide Product Marketing, and supported Planning with material, labor and tooling projected costs and schedules to implement the Programs.

Industrial Standards, Product Safety and Testing:

Art has developed and reviewed aspects of Safety and Prevention and is familiar with Industrial Standards (ASME, ISO, CAGI, OSHA, NEC, ANSI, etc).  He has studied Product literature, Maintenance practices and effects of degradation of Compressor lubricants and fluids on performance and life.  As part of the investigation process, he has written Test Protocols, directed testing and instrumentation selection and location, analysis and interpretation of results and findings for exemplar parts and Compressors.  Art has also completed studies of industries’ technologies and evolution of design enhancements.  As part of this work he has analyzed Compressor System pressure losses, heat transfer, efficiency, fluid flows, temperature gradients, auto ignition and fire damage.

Art is a Member of the ASM International and the National Society of Professional Engineers.  He received the Bruce Ball Medal from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and the Armistead Trust Medal of Merit from Dundee Technical College.

Languages:

Art has participated in Joint Ventures in Japan, Singapore, India and the UK where he supported Engineering and Product Manufacturing.  He has also worked as the conduit between US Dealers and Chinese Manufacturers producing Reciprocating and Screw Compressors.  He is world travelled.

Art enjoys golf, gardening, auto repair and rebuilding, swimming, walking, exercising, horse riding and home repair.
 

Legal Experiences:

Art works as a Consultant and Expert Witness for Trial Lawyers (both Plaintiff and Defense) engaged in Compressor Product Litigation.  He has investigated, diagnosed, reconstructed, analyzed Products and Artifacts that have been involved in personnel injuries and Plant and Product damage.  He has participated in both Depositions and Court Proceedings.

Cargo Bracing Bars (Load Bars):

Art has worked for four years on the design, manufacturing and application Cargo Bracing bars both for Pick-up Trucks and the Heavy duty Trucking Industry (dry and refrigerated freight).  He is totally familiar with the wide variety of Load Bar product technologies servicing this industry and offers an Expert Witness service to Trial Lawyers involved with related personnel injury, truck wall damage, and spoiled/damaged product.
